Detect Beats

Select Beats in the bottom bar, then Detect Beats. Once complete, the waveform shows beat lines and BPM. You can use beat snapping, beat-based seeking, the metronome, Count-in, and beat-based loop intervals.

Detection runs on the current device without uploading audio.

Choose a Detection Mode

In Settings, choose:

• Smart: model-based analysis, a useful first choice. Processing time depends on the device and track length.
• Fast: lighter analysis to try when you need results sooner.

Results vary with the material; no mode guarantees every beat is correct. Existing cached results can remain after switching modes. Run detection again when you need new results.

Check the Beat Lines

Enable the metronome and listen for alignment with the track before using snapping. Tempo changes, pickups, syncopation, or passages without clear drums may cause inaccuracies.

• To select a range precisely by hand, temporarily turn snapping off.
• If all lines fall between the desired beats, try Shift by Half a Beat.
• If one section is unsuitable, set A/B and reanalyze the selection.

Beat Line Density

The beat menu's ½× / 1× / 2× changes the current line density: 1× is the detected result, ½× keeps every other beat, and 2× adds a line between adjacent beats.

The metronome, snapping, and beat-based seeking use the current density. Listen to the rhythm first, then choose a subdivision that suits your practice.

Reanalyze a Selection

Set an A/B range, then select Reanalyze Region in the beat menu. Only that section is recalculated; other results remain.

After detection, listen again at both selection boundaries to check that they join appropriately with the surrounding sections.
