LAN Transfer
LAN Transfer lets a computer browser access a phone or tablet app's library to transfer files, organize projects, and edit playlists. It is different from the standalone GrooveJog web app.
Connect
- Open LAN Transfer from the phone menu or More on a tablet.
- Connect the computer and device to the same network.
- Enter the panel's URL in the computer browser, then enter the six-digit pairing code.
- Keep the panel open during transfer and do not lock the device.
Tap the URL to copy it. “Share Link” sends an entry link with pairing information; “Scan to Connect” lets another phone or tablet scan it.
See Transfer Webpage for available operations. You do not need to install GrooveJog on the computer.
Pairing and Disconnection
The pairing code changes when the server restarts. Extended inactivity, network changes, or pairing problems may stop the server; the panel log explains why.
For an incorrect code, follow the webpage's prompts. Five consecutive incorrect attempts cause a temporary one-minute lockout. When the server stops, the old connection becomes invalid; connect again.
Network and Privacy
Files travel over the LAN without passing through a cloud file server. Transfer uses HTTP, so others on the same network may observe traffic. Use a trusted home or studio network.
Common Questions
The URL will not open. Check that both devices are on the same network and the panel is still open. Public networks such as hotels may isolate devices; use your own network or try a phone hotspot.
Transfer disconnected partway through. Check whether the device locked, changed networks, or stopped the server.
The webpage asks to pair again. Use the current code in the app panel; old codes do not work after a restart.
Large files transfer slowly. Speed depends on network conditions. If you only need a section, trim and save it in the app before transferring.
