Customize Lock Screen Buttons

Phone and tablet apps provide playback controls on the system lock screen and Control Center. In the Lock Screen section of Settings → Buttons & Keys, select the left or right button on the preview card, then choose an action below. Defaults are backward 5 seconds and forward 15 seconds.

The card icons match the system lock screen: fixed-duration seeking uses a numbered circular arrow on iPhone and rewind/fast-forward icons on Android. Other actions use previous/next track icons, with text below explaining the actual action. A side set to no action is gray on iPhone and hidden on Android.

For example, set the left button to Previous Clip and the right to increase speed by 0.1, letting you repeat and raise the speed without unlocking. If Auto-Speed is running, turn it off before adjusting speed manually.

Relationship to Other Buttons

Main-interface seek buttons are configured separately on the same settings page and do not follow lock screen changes. They support beat-based seeking but not the lock screen's speed actions.

Playlists have their own lock screen configuration, with track switching and second-based seeking only. The browser version does not provide these native lock screen settings.
