Edit and Export
Media editing trims material, compresses files, or permanently rotates video. These editing controls are currently available in phone and tablet apps. Browsers can import and export project packages; finished media must be exported in the app.
Trim
On phones, open Edit Audio / Edit Video from the menu; on tablets, use More. Drag both ends to choose the range to keep. After confirmation, the project uses the trimmed media.
This changes the media itself, unlike A/B looping, which only limits the playback range. Clips and the timeline adjust to the retained range; disabling looping does not restore removed material.
If unsure, save a separate project or export a package as a backup first. If you only need a few minutes of a long recording, trimming that section also reduces later processing work.
Rotate and Remove Video
Rotation in Edit Video is written into the result; later exports use the corrected picture. To change only the current viewing direction, use playback display rotation without editing the file.
If you only need audio, remove the video.
Compress
Compression in the editing interface re-encodes the media, primarily reducing storage size, and may change audio or picture quality. It does not reduce decoded audio memory in proportion to file size. Trim overly long material first. See Large Files and Memory.
Whether trimming or audio extraction re-encodes depends on the original format and operation; these operations are not always lossless.
Export Practice Material
After editing or adjusting audio, export audio, video, clips, or a project package. Enable Mix Processing in finished-media exports when you want others to hear the slow playback, transposition, or stem mix directly.
